Project Management Professional (PMP)® Exam Preparation

Project Management Institute Authorized Training Partner (A.T.P.)

Schedule

Delivered remotely via Zoom

Dates: Thursdays, March 6–May 8, 2025, from 5:30–9:00 p.m.

Cost: $900

Program Overview

Your ability as a project manager to demonstrate best practices in project management—both on the job and through professional certification—is becoming the standard to compete in today's fast-paced and highly technical workplace. In this Project Management Professional (PMP)® Exam Preparation course, you will apply the generally recognized practices of project management acknowledged by the Project Management Institute (PMI)® to manage projects successfully.

The course, taught by a PMP-credentialed instructor, covers project initiation, creating high-performing teams, collaborating with and engaging stakeholders, determining appropriate project methods and practices, managing the schedule and scope of a project, evaluating business and environment changes, and how to mitigate risks within the project.

You'll learn time management skills and obtain an overview of the questions covered on the PMP Exam. The skills and knowledge you gain in this course will help you avoid making costly mistakes and increase your competitive edge in the project management profession.

All materials used in this course are developed and approved by PMI. After enrolling, you'll receive an electronic access key to download their materials.

Successful completion of this course ensures that you'll meet the 35-hour education requirement to apply for and take the exam and that your education will not be subject to audit.

Penn State is a PMI Authorized Training Partner (A.T.P.) and is committed to enhancing the ongoing professional development of PMI Members, PMI-certified Project Management Professionals, and other project management stakeholders.

What Can a PMP® Credential Do for You?

According to the PMI, the median salary for professionals with a PMP in the United States is 25% higher than those without it. View additional information on the PMP's earning power.

Prerequisite

Although purchase is not mandatory, you must be familiar with The Project Management Institute's PMBOK® Guide.

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for individuals who have on-the-job project management experience, are not certified professionals, and may or may not have received formal project management training.

You'll develop professionally, increase project management skills, apply a formalized and standards-based approach to project management, prepare to move into a formal project manager job role, and apply for the PMP certification.

Keep in mind that, although this course is open to anyone preparing for the PMP exam administered through the PMI, there are eligibility requirements you must meet before applying and taking the exam.
