Members Absent: Faisal Aqlan, Rick Coon, Anne Gohn, Phil Jones, Fred Nitterright, Steve Nozacki, Steve Strom
The committee participated in a safety webinar titled "Incident Investigation, Reporting, Prevention for Supervisor/Manager" that was offered by the PA Department of Labor and Industry.
The webinar was focused on the investigation of accidents, near misses, and unsafe acts in the workplace, and the important factors that go along with that process.
Highlights of the webinar include:
- Empowerment by safety committee members, supervisors, and managers to recognize an unsafe act or condition and to remedy the situation in a timely manner.
- Rapid Response to, and investigation of accidents/incidents. The importance of a thorough investigation by gathering the facts and identifying the conditions of the scene in a timely manner when an incident/accident occurs.
- Interviewing Witnesses
- Corrective Action
- Near Misses / Hazard Recognition, and the identification of possible trends
Certificates were presented to the participants and the PowerPoint slides from the webinar were emailed to the members who were unable to attend.
