New graduate degree focuses on evolving business transformation strategies

Applications are being accepted for a new 33-credit master of professional studies in enterprise architecture and business transformation degree. Developed by the College of Information Sciences and Technology in collaboration with the Smeal College of Business, the degree will be offered exclusively online through Penn State World Campus. Courses will begin in fall 2018.

Still in its alpha test stage, Professor Nittany is a question-answering chatbot designed to help students with World Campus advising questions. The concept was first developed by Meng Su, associate professor of computer science and software engineering, and a team of students at Penn State Behrend.

The Penn State Alumni Association will honor 10 prominent young alumni at the Alumni Achievement Awards on March 23. Alumni Achievement Award recipients are nominated by an academic college or campus and invited by the president of the University to return to Penn State to share their expertise with students and the University community. Honorees demonstrate to students that Penn State alumni succeed in exceptional fashion at an early age.

Behrend swimmers set 10 records at AMCC championships

The Penn State Behrend men’s swimming and diving team won the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference championships by a margin of 340 points. The Lions set 10 records on the final day of competition. The women’s team placed second.

Longtime Behrend administrator Bob Light dies

Bob Light, former associate dean for research and outreach and chief operating officer at Penn State Behrend, died Feb. 13 at age 64. "There is virtually no aspect of the college or our neighboring community where his impact was not felt," Chancellor Ralph Ford said.
