Behrend to host Zoom program with faculty members in Kyiv, Ukraine

The Public Policy Fund at Penn State Behrend will host an online panel discussion on March 24 with faculty at the Kyiv School of Economics, including the school’s president, who continues to teach, even while his country is at war. Lena Surzhko Harned, assistant teaching professor of political science at Behrend, will moderate the program.

Behrend career fair returns to in-person format

Recruiters from more than 130 companies and community organizations met with students at Penn State Behrend’s spring Career and Internship Fair. “The job market is positive right now,” said Kyle Danzey, director of career services at the college.

More than 1,300 attend Behrend STEAM Fair

The March 14 STEAM Fair at Penn State Behrend featured 75 hands-on activity stations, with 3D doodle pens, a wind tunnel, remote-control LEGO robots and an Easter egg zipline. More than 1,300 people attended.

Behrend water polo team wins two at CWPA tournament

The Penn State Behrend women’s water polo team won two matches at the Collegiate Water Polo Association’s regional tournament in Washington, Pennsylvania. The team dropped two other games, losing by one point in each. Behrend’s baseball, softball, volleyball and tennis teams also were in action last week. Here are the scores and highlights.

Behrend Center for Family Business adds staff, programming

The Center for Family Business at Penn State Behrend has selected Mary Beth Wilcher, a wealth-management strategist and former credit union CEO, as director. She will lead day-to-day operations at the center, an outreach effort of Behrend’s Black School of Business, while scaling up the center’s membership, programming and peer-network resources.

Behrend to celebrate ‘topping off’ of new Erie Hall

The steel frame for Penn State Behrend’s new Erie Hall, a $28.2 million fitness and recreation center, will be completed on March 23, when the final beam is set into place. The college will celebrate with a “topping off” ceremony, marking the moment the new building reaches its final height.
