Behrend to stage '25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee'

The Penn State Behrend theater program will stage “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” in an outdoor and socially distanced setting April 22-25. “This is the next step in pandemic theater,” the show’s director, Emily Cassano, said. “We’re outdoors and making the best of it.”

Three professors combined review more than 19,000 transfer courses

The raw numbers are staggering: nearly 87,000 courses have been added to the Credit Transfer Tool since 2016. More than 90% of reviewed courses have some type of equivalency at Penn State, and over 50% have a direct equivalency to a Penn State course. Among the 200-plus faculty reviewers, three Penn State professors have completed nearly 20,000 of the transfer course reviews.

Behrend softball team sweeps Alfred State

The Penn State Behrend softball team swept Alfred State on April 20, winning 9-1 and 14-1. Cami McNany, a sophomore from Elmenton, batted 3-for-3 in the opener, earning a season-high six RBIs. In the second game, she was 3-for-4, with five RBIs.

Behrend faculty publish new books of poetry and prose

The faculty members in Penn State Behrend’s bachelor of fine arts (B.F.A.) in creative writing are collaborating both in the program and on the page: All three have new books in print, and each lists the others on the acknowledgements pages of their books.
