Behrend runner Savanna Carr advances to NCAA championship

Penn State Behrend runner Savanna Carr qualified for the NCAA national championship race after placing eighth in a field of 349 runners at the NCAA Division III Mid-East Regional in Bethlehem. Carr, a junior from Franklin, finished the 6K race in 21:52.7. Penn State Behrend’s soccer, volleyball, basketball and wrestling teams also were in action last week. Here are the highlights.

Behrend alumnus builds a business on ancient shark teeth

Penn State Behrend alumnus Bill Eberlein collects ancient Megalodon teeth while scuba diving in Georgia and South Carolina. "The Megalodon wasn't just a shark," he said, "but a dinosaur shark. It was thought to be one of the largest and most powerful predators in the sea."
