The Penn State Lake Erie Regional Grape Research and Extension Center will hold a public open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15. Open house visitors are invited to tour the vineyards and learn more about the center’s research efforts.
Jared Yates Sexton will read excerpts from his books, including “The People Are Going to Rise Like the Waters Upon Your Shore,” on Thursday, Sept. 6, when he visits Penn State Behrend to open the college’s Creative Writers Reading Series. His 6 p.m. reading and the reception preceding it are free and open to the public.
Some of the brightest planets, including Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, will be visible this fall in Erie. The Pennsylvania Quintet will visit Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, on Sept. 7 to open the 29th season of "Music at Noon: The Logan Series." The performance takes place at noon in McGarvey Commons, in the college’s Reed Union Building.
