A team of Penn State Behrend students participated in Howard University’s 15th annual National Model African Union Summit. The four-day summit, sponsored by the African Union Mission and Member State Embassies in Washington, D.C., is a simulation of the proceedings of the African Union.
The Penn State Behrend Concert Band’s annual spring performance will be held Tuesday, April 18, at 8 p.m. in McGarvey Commons at the college. The program, titled “Journeys” is intended to be a musical travelogue across several continents.

Mickie MacNicol, a junior nursing major at Penn State Behrend, will combine her passions for humanitarianism and photography this spring. From now until the end of the semester, she invites all graduating seniors to contact her to set up a senior photo shoot. In exchange for the photos, participating students are asked to donate only what they can afford, and MacNicol will give all proceeds from the photo shoots to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania.
The Penn State Behrend softball team scored 23 runs on 31 hits in a double-header against Pitt-Bradford. Against La Roche, the Lions scored a run in every inning but the first, winning the nightcap 6-0.
Academic excellence at Penn State Behrend was recognized Sunday, April 9, at the campus' 68th annual Honors and Awards Convocation. More than 300 students were honored during the program.
Eric W. Corty has been appointed director of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Penn State Behrend. He brings to the position more than three decades of experience in teaching, research, outreach and academic leadership.
