This year marked the 24th year for Penn State Behrend's College for Kids, and it was the largest yet: A total of 1,381 children between the ages of 6 and 14 participated. They took part in more than 100 classes, including "CSI-Crime Scene Investigations."

Psychology students at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, used the popular Pokémon Go game to test the spatial intelligence of 60 male and female players. The men drew more accurate maps after playing the game for 20 minutes.
Manufacturing employment in Erie County has decreased since the 1970s. Some jobs have come back, but the downward trend likely will continue, said Ken Louie, director of the Economic Research Institute of Erie. "There's a ratcheting effect downward, and that may be our major challenge," he said.

Jason Pettner was recognized for his accomplishments this spring at Penn State Behrend's Excellence in Student Leadership and Service Awards when he received the T. Reed Ferguson Award. That’s exactly what she has done at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, where she recently completed her sophomore year.
Alexandra Alfonso Castro, a chemistry major who recently completed her junior year at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, has made it her mission to promote healthy habits on campus. She created the Campus Health and Fitness Club, a new student organization that educates students on how they can avoid getting sick.
