Penn State Behrend students raised $46,000 for THON.

Penn State Behrend students raised more than $46,000 for the 2015 IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon, which ended Feb. 22. Two students – Alexandra Laffey, a sophomore from Sewickley, and Mackenzie Yoho, a sophomore from Ellwood City – danced in the two-day event, which raised more than $13 million for the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital.

Penn State Behrend students raised more than $46,000 for the 2015 IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon, which ended Feb. 22. The Economic Research Institute of Erie, a research center of the Black School of Business at Penn State Behrend, has partnered with the Erie Community Foundation to provide data and analysis for Erie Vital Signs, a benchmarking program that tracks the region’s performance in seven key areas.

The move sharpens the program’s local focus. The analysis previously had been done at the University of Pittsburgh.

'Open Lab' Brings New Partners to Knowledge Park

Sometimes 1 mile can be 1 mile too far.

It was only 1 mile that separated Cybersonics Inc. from Penn State Behrend in 2009, but according to Jeff Vaitekunas, vice president of research and development at Cybersonics, being located across the highway from the University just wasn’t cutting it.

“I looked across that street, and when I saw those buildings I knew there was a great opportunity,” he said.
