Accordionist Merima Ključo and guitarist Miroslav Tadić make up Aritmia, and they will bring their unique sound to Penn State Behrend on Wednesday, Nov. 6, to perform as part of Music at Noon: The Logan Series. The performance will take place at noon in McGarvey Commons, in the college’s Reed Union Building.
Innovators often think big when solving problems and creating solutions. A number of Penn State Behrend students recently started to think really big as they used the college's Innovation Commons to design and built a large-format 3D printer from scratch.
The Penn State Behrend women’s soccer team scored 11 goals against Alfred State. Bella Sestito, a freshman from Jefferson Hills, and Cassidy Ulanowicz, a junior from Gibsonia, each recorded three goals. Community members are invited to visit campus Thursday, Oct. 31, to become “citizen scientists” and help map the arboretum. Several new species of trees have been introduced to campus since the arboretum’s dedication in 2003, and this effort will allow the college to create a new map, which will identify all trees on campus.

Avi Loeb will discuss the search for extraterrestrial life on Friday, Nov. 1, when he visits Penn State Behrend as part of the college’s 2019-20 Speaker Series. His talk, which is presented in partnership with the Jefferson Educational Society and its Global Summit Lecture Series, begins at 7:30 p.m. in McGarvey Commons, in the college’s Reed Union Building.
Harborcreek Township supervisor candidates Lynda Meyer and Steve Oler will debate issues of importance to the community during a forum sponsored by the Public Policy Fund at Penn State Behrend on Wednesday, Oct. 23. The program, which begins at 6 p.m. in the McGarvey Commons of the Reed Union Building, is free and open to the public.
A Penn State Behrend research team discovered the first evidence of Hemimysis anomala, an invasive species of shrimp, in Lake Erie's Pennsylvania waters. The team is developing a method of testing ballast water in ships traveling from areas where the shrimp are now common.
